ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਮਹਾਂਵੀਰ ਜੈਯੰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੈਜਿਸਟਰੇਟ ਗੁਲਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਔਲਖ ਨੇ 31 ਮਾਰਚ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੀ ਹਦੂਦ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੀਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਚੜਖਾਨੇ ਬੰਦ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਹੁਕਮ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੈਜਿਸਟਰੇਟ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਸੁਰਕਸ਼ਾ ਸੰਹਿਤਾ 2023 ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 163 ਅਧੀਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ, 31 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੈਨ ਸਮਾਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਮਹਾਂਵੀਰ ਜੈਯੰਤੀ ਮਨਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਹਿੰਸਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਦੀ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਮੀਟ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਤੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਰੋਕ ਰਹੇਗੀ। ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਅਮਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

The Punjab government has made an important announcement on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. The District Magistrate, Gulpreet Singh Oulkh, has issued strict orders to close all meat shops and slaughterhouses in the district on March 31, 2026.
