ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ, 18 ਮਾਰਚ 2026: ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਡਰੱਗ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ-ਆਰਥਿਕ ਜਨਗਣਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਬਰੀ ਡਿਊਟੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ (ਐਲੀਮੈਂਟਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ), ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮੰਗ ਪੱਤਰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਪੱਤਰ (ਮਿਤੀ 13/03/2026) ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਸ ਜਨਗਣਨਾ ਲਈ ਗਣਨਾਕਾਰਾਂ (Enumerators) ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਸਵੈ-ਇੱਛਾ (Volunteer) ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਹੋਣੀ ਸੀ।
ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਬਲਾਕਾਂ, ਸੈਂਟਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਨੋਡਲ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਬੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਲਟ ਹੈ।
Firozpur, March 18, 2026: The collective teacher organizations of Firozpur district have strongly opposed the forced deployment of teachers in the drug socio-economic census being conducted by the Punjab government.
In this regard, the organizations have submitted a demand letter to the District Education Officer (Elementary Education), Firozpur.
Teacher leaders said that according to the letter issued by the department (dated 13/03/2026), the appointment of enumerators for this census was to be done on a voluntary basis.
But now, the blocks, centers, and school heads are being forced to provide the name of a nodal employee at each level, which is against the rules.

ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ (DEO) ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਡਰੱਗ ਜਨਗਣਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਬਰੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਲਈ ਪਾਬੰਦ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮਸਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਯੋਗ ਹੱਲ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
The organizations have expressed concern that collecting data related to drugs in villages may cause mental harassment to teachers in the future.
During this task, there is also a risk of physical and financial harm to teachers, as this is a very sensitive issue.
The collective teacher organizations of Firozpur have demanded from the District Education Officer (DEO) that teachers should not be forced to perform duties in this drug census and a suitable solution to this problem should be found.
