ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਬਸ ਸਫਰ ਲਈ 2042 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਕੀਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਹਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਲਗਭਗ 1 ਕਰੋੜ 20 ਲੱਖ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਬਸ ਸਫਰ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ, ਇਸਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ. ਬਲਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਾਲ 2022-23 ਤੋਂ 2025-26 ਤੱਕ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਬਸ ਸਫਰ ਲਈ ਲਗਭਗ 2042 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸਫਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਲਹਿਰ ਹੈ।
The Punjab Government has invested 2042 crores for free bus travel for women. Under this scheme, about 1 crore 20 lakh free bus travels are being taken by women across Punjab every month.
Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that from the financial year 2022-23 to 2025-26, about 2042 crores have been spent on free bus travel for women.
She further said that this facility is not just free travel, but a new wave of freedom and confidence in the lives of women.
