In this fire incident, rubber businessman Manoj Pugalia and his pregnant daughter-in-law Simran were among the 8 people who lost their lives. According to the police, the incident occurred between 3:30 and 4 am.

In the incident, four more people were seriously injured. Residents alleged that the fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene about an hour after being informed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, expressing deep sorrow over the incident. He announced Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased.
